My journey to audio and video began when I was a freshman in highschool. I was captivated with the Beatles and garage bands. Up until that point in time, I had a strong background in science. I was known as the science freak and math guy who helped the jocks with their tests. My love for music grew stronger than my love for science and I began teaching guitar lessons at a local store. Parents would come in and ask me advice on which guitar to buy for their children, and that experience brought out my salesman skills.  As I became older, I attended college, worked as a top salesman, and decided to be a guitar player at night. During the 70’s, I took my passion for music seriously and began recording. That journey led to engineering, where I started heavily recording for several bands until 2002. At that point, I integrated all my past experiences and started a business called Heavenly Sounds in Colorado Springs. In 2006, that journey came to an end as the recession hit, and I returned home to Kansas. I worked at the local Ford Dealership and began building DK Audio at night. In 2008, I began working full-time with DK Audio. In 2013, Lucas and I began to assist each other’s businesses, and then decided to merge the two together about 5 years ago.

My father raised me in the ways of an audio engineer since the age of seven. I spent most of my days running cables and working the soundboard with my dad for the bands he played in. From that point on, I began to grow within the industry as a tech, and then ventured off into the musician path. I fell in love with music and sounds in general, so I began to play several instruments such as drums, piano, guitar, saxophone, trumpet, violin, cello, and bass guitar.  In 2011, I decided to step out into the audio arena exclusively. I went through extensive training on digital consoles, and began to notice the difference in the levels of sound quality, which then led to me specializing in high-end systems. I have a passion for putting projects together and seeing them come to fruition the way clients picture them to be. I am currently a Worship Pastor in Canyon City. I have been happily married for 6 years, and we have been blessed with a 1.5 year-old child.
